There is now an eighth prospective candidate for the city’s April 11 council elections. Leisure World resident Chuk Zoffer picked up nomination papers Wednesday.

He joins incumbents Ann Snider, Victor Kay and Brenda Ross and challengers Robert Bouer, Helen Mencher, Mary Stone and Jan Nelson McLaughlin.

Zoffer, who had attended a candidates information meeting held by the city Dec. 17, had said he believes he has the expertise to be on the council, having worked for various committees.

He said his biggest concerns are elimination of plans for the proposed airport at El Toro and building up alternative revenue sources for the city apart from Leisure World.
