Lexington Junior High School students donated money to help disadvantaged families during the Christmas season. Holiday Hope, an outreach organization run by the Orange County Volunteer Connection, gave staff at Lexington the names of three families in need. Students responded by donating $1,951.50. The money was used to buy clothing and toys for the families.
Holiday Hope has been matching disadvantaged families with fund-raising groups for more than 15 years.
