Placentia Boy Hit by Car, Hospitalized

A 5-year-old Placentia boy was struck by a car Monday after running into La Jolla Street near Wallgreen Street, police said. Paramedics took the child to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of broken bones and other moderate injuries. He was expected to recover, authorities said. The accident is still under investigation, Placentia Police Lt. Steve Toth said.
