Driver Killed After Running Red Light

A 67-year-old man was killed Monday morning when he failed to stop for a red light and another car broadsided his vehicle, authorities said.
Rosauro A. Enriquez of Oxnard was driving west on Gonzales Road about 9 a.m. when he drovehis Nissan Maxima through the light at Snow Avenue, police said.
Cesar Ruiz, 19, of Oxnard was driving south on Snow Avenue and struck Enriquez’s car at the intersection. Ruiz’s car spun and slammed into a third vehicle, which was stopped for the light.
Enriquez was rushed to nearby St. John’s Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room just before 10 a.m., coroner’s officials said.
Cause of death was traumatic chest and abdominal injuries.
Ruiz and two passengers in his car suffered minor injuries, as did the third car’s driver, Cecilia Anna Perez, 45, of Oxnard.
They all declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.
