Calphalon Corp., a maker of gourmet cookware, filed suit against General Housewares Corp., which was acquired in October by Corning Consumer Products Co., over the patent for nonstick cookware. In the suit, filed in federal court in Chicago, Calphalon is asking the court to declare that its Professional Non-Stick II products do not infringe General Housewares’ patent. Corning and General Housewares had demanded that Calphalon stop manufacturing and selling the products, the suit claims.
