The Citizens’ Bureau of Investigation has appointed John Boag, known professionally as Jonathan B., as the third executive director of the CBI. The bureau was founded by William Mello in 1994 to investigate public waste, fraud and abuse in government.
CBI has been involved in many high-profile cases, including pension spiking, pay and perks of city employees, police outdoor gun range, FBI investigation of allegations of civil rights abuses by the Huntington Beach Police Department, political contributions by Huntington Beach employee labor unions, the Huntington Beach Police Department internal affairs, and allegations of illegal activities of the city attorney’s office.
