An Irvine attorney was arrested Sunday night after allegedly tipping off police about narcotics in his own office.

Gregory G. Brown apparently was working late at his office at 38 Corporate Park. After hearing unusual noises, the 37-year-old attorney called police, telling them he suspected that a burglar had found a way into the building.

As police officers arrived, Brown, who police said seemed to be confused, was waiting outside the office building.

That’s when he started talking, police said.

“He told them what was going on and that there were narcotics in the building,†said Allevato, adding that Brown appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

While the search for an intruder remained fruitless, the officers did make one discovery--a stash of cocaine hidden in a handbag in Brown’s restroom.
