2 Men Hurt an Hour Apart in Unrelated Shootings
Two Lancaster men were wounded in unrelated shootings early Saturday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
Both men were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Handley.
Charles Yusta, 19, was shot in the chest about 3 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Norberry Street, Handley said.
Investigators were searching for the gunman, he said.
Nearly an hour later, Joseph Gibson, 20, was shot in the left thigh at a trailer park in the 1300 block of East Avenue I, Handley said.
Gibson was standing near a window inside a trailer when a man fired four times at the trailer with a .44-caliber revolver, Handley said. Deputies arrested Jonathan McNair, 24, of Lancaster, at the trailer park shortly after the shooting, he said.
Deputies recovered a gun and booked McNair on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
A hospital spokeswoman said she had no record of the two victims.
