Williams Hits It Out of Sight

Alex Fernandez had two hits and three runs batted in for Lancaster but teammate Peanut Williams stole the show Thursday in a 9-4 victory over Lake Elsinore in front of an announced crowd of 4,032 at The Diamond.
Williams’ 12th home run was a tape-measure shot, landing on an access road to the parking lot located behind the left-field fence.
The JetHawks (38-73) scored four runs in the ninth inning, three unearned, after taking a 5-4 lead in the eighth on a run-scoring single by Jason Regan.

The Storm defeated Lancaster, 6-1, in the three-game series opener on Wednesday. Ryan Cummings (2-0) pitched eight innings, giving up six hits and one earned run.
Patrick Dunham (0-2) of the JetHawks pitched into the fifth inning and surrendered all the runs, five earned, on six hits.

Outfielder Matt Sachse was returned on Thursday to the JetHawks by the Tacoma Rainers, the Seattle Mariners’ triple-A affiliate.
To make room for Sachse, Lancaster released pitcher Russ Koehler.
