Children ages 6 to 12 can make gifts for Mother’s Day during a one-day event May 6 at the Recreation and Community Services Department, 10911 Oak St. Children will paint a keepsake ceramic box for their moms and create a card and picture frame during the “Mother’s Day Special” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $8 plus $3 for materials.
