Huntington Beach High School officials expect to have a new pool in a year, with only $200,000 left to raise of the $600,000 refurbishing costs. Several donations have recently been presented to the Huntington Beach High School Foundation, which is sponsoring the campaign. The gifts included about $130,000 worth of stock from former Huntington Beach Union High School District Trustee Barbara Johnson and her husband, Tom. Foundation President Sylvia Garrett said that demolition is expected to begin in May.
