SMALL FACES
With Blues Traveler on hiatus, singer-harmonica player John Popper has just started work on his first solo album, hooking up with veteran rock producer Terry Manning and Dave Matthews Band drummer Carter Beauford. Cheap Trick is releasing a live album, “Music for Hangovers,” taped on tour last year and featuring guest appearances by the Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and D’Arcy. The album, issued on the band’s own label, will be available only via Amazon.com for two months starting April 20 before being distributed to stores. . . .
David Spade has a go at the Neil Diamond hit “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show” for the soundtrack and album of his upcoming film “Lost & Found.” He also appears in the video for Kottonmouth Kings’ “Dog’s Life,” which will be the first single from the album, due May 4, with the movie premiering April 23.
