Jared Flint

Orange Coast, Freshman

Football

Flint, from Irvine High, had time to take a good look around in the Pirates’ game against Santa Ana on Saturday. The Dons didn’t blitz much and Flint took advantage by completing 16 of 25 passes, including 11 in a row at one point, for 240 yards and three touchdowns. He also scrambled seven yards for a touchdown in the 28-17 victory.

Water Polo

Adriano Marsili

* Golden West, sophomore. He scored 13 goals in four games as the Rustlers, top-ranked in the state, won the Merced tournament.

Golden West, Freshman

Volleyball

Daedelow struggled at the end of last season at Huntington Beach High because of a separated shoulder. But she is at full strength this season. Daedelow, an outside hitter, is leading Golden West in kills early in the season. She had a team-high 67 kills as the Rustlers went 9-1 last weekend at the Valley of the Sun tournament at Arizona State.
