AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines, plans to sell its AMR Global Services aviation services and telemarketing units to focus on its airline and travel reservation businesses. AMR hired Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch & Co. for the sale of the three units, which combined have about 13,600 employees and revenue of $451 million.

Boeing Co. said Ron Woodard, who was forced out earlier this month as president of Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, has decided to retire effective Nov. 1. Woodard has not said what he plans to do next and was not available for comment, a Boeing spokeswoman said.
