Santa Ana, Junior; Football/Tailback/Safety
Splitting time at tailback with Reynaldo Flores, he rushed 18 times for 192 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Saints to a 48-14 victory over Bolsa Grande, their first victory in 30 games dating to the second week of the 1995 season. “Tony made some cutbacks that were just unbelievable on runs where we didn’t block well,” said Santa Ana Coach Mark Miller.

* Esperanza, Junior. Set record of 14 minutes 48 seconds on three-mile course at Huntington Central Park in Aztecs’ 15-50 victory over Marina.

* Fountain Valley, Senior. Threw five touchdown passes to Aaron Carter and finished with 278 yards passing in Barons’ 35-26 victory at Bloomington.

Nick Pacelli/Water Polo/Two-meter
* Villa Park, Senior. He scored 22 goals in four games in the South Coast Tournament last weekend.
