East Los Angeles 39, Pierce 12--The Brahmas’ losing streak continued as they fell for a 31st consecutive time, losing to the Huskies (1-1, 1-0) in a Western State Conference game at East Los Angeles.
Calvin Zinck completed 19 of 39 for 236 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions for Pierce.
Zinck completed a four-yard scoring strike to Bruce Johnson in the first quarter to pull the Brahmas (0-3, 0-2) to within 14-6. Zinck had an eight-yard scoring pass to Baughn Corley just before halftime, drawing Pierce within 20-12.
