So the Goo Goo Dolls have writer’s block (“The Goo Goos’ Stick-to-Itiveness,” by Marc Weingarten, Sept. 20)?
It seems that they wrote their big hit “Iris” to the tune of Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” And wasn’t their last album full of tunes swiped from the Replacements? I think you have to actually write in order to have writer’s block.
P.S. Drummer Mike Malinin is a local L.A. boy, not a Buffalo native as reported. (The Buffalo drummer was fired just after “A Boy Named Goo.”)
