Canyons 42, Desert 32--Jason Parks provided a rousing debut for College of the Canyons in its first game in 17 years.

Parks rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns in 23 carries, including a 67-yard run with 4:49 to play to seal the victory at Desert. Parks, a freshman from Oregon, also scored on runs of 24 and two yards.

Canyons wide receiver Tim Feirfeil, a freshman from L.A. Baptist, caught five passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Feirfeil’s touchdown catches covered five and 74 yards in the second half and helped the Cougars overcome a 24-21 deficit.

Kevin Carrasco, one of three Canyons quarterbacks, completed seven of 11 for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman Peter Dirksen completed three of seven for 86 yards and one interception.
