Biggest ‘Crams’ Are Taxes, Surcharges
“Slammed by ‘Cramming’ †[Personal Finance, Aug. 30] is a timely article, but it neglected to include the most egregious crams of all, namely, taxes and surcharges totaling $8 per month.
This amounts to 20% of my combined AT&T; and Pacific Bell modest single-family phone bill. For the life of me, I don’t recall authorizing any of these services. Can it be true that my reps at the federal, state and local government levels are responsible for initiating the “nation’s No. 1†fraud?
