Mayor, University Students to Help Clean Up Canyon

Mayor Cristina Madrid will lead hundreds of Azusa Pacific University students in an effort to clean trash next week in Azusa Canyon, at the edge of the Angeles National Forest
More than 700 students will be bused by the city from Azusa Pacific to the foothills above Azusa on Sept 8. to participate in the community cleanup.
The activity is part of the orientation for incoming students and is designed to promote the value of community service, officials said.
Last year, Azusa Pacific students helped clean up schools throughout the Azusa Unified School District.
