Chesley Leads Laguna Beach Past Estancia
Pat Chesley almost single-handedly defeated Estancia in a Pacific Coast League football game Friday at Laguna Beach.
Chesley, a junior running back, scored all of the Artists’ points in a 17-10 victory.
Chesley kicked a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter to give Laguna Beach (2-6, 1-2) a 3-0 lead.
In the second quarter, he scored on a 25-yard run and caught a pass from Ryan Schlisser that went for a 34-yard touchdown.
Chesley, who also converted both extra points, finished with 70 yards in 12 carries. Schlisser completed seven of 18 passes for 91 yards.
Manu Tanielu scored Estanica’s only touchdown on an eight-yard reception in the fourth quarter. Estancia is 1-7, 0-3.
