Northridge Plays a Waiting Game After 2-1 Defeat
Cal State Northridge, needing a victory to qualify for the Big Sky Conference women’s soccer tournament, lost to Northern Arizona, 2-1, Friday by surrendering a goal with 10 minutes to play at Flagstaff, Ariz.
Julie Olsen’s goal in the 80th minute sank the Matadors (6-13, 3-4 in conference play), who must await results of other conference games this weekend before learning if their season is over.
Riya Gough scored on a pass from Kerrie Clavadetscher to give Northridge a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute.
Raegin Eyre evened the match 11 minutes after halftime for the Lumberjacks (8-9, 4-3).
Ventura 1, Santa Barbara 1--Chrissy Sanford scored her 33rd goal but the Pirates (16-0-3, 14-0-1) had their 24-game Western State Conference winning streak ended at Santa Barbara.
