Bounty Hunter Guilty in Slaying of Couple
Associated Press
PHOENIX — A jury rejected a self-proclaimed bounty hunter’s self-defense arguments and convicted him Friday of first-degree murder in the deaths of a couple shot in their bed.
Michael Sanders, 41, faces a January sentencing for the August 1997 killings of Christopher Foote, 25, and Spring Wright, 19. Prosecutors are asking for the death penalty.
“I feel we got justice,†said Foote’s father, Tom Foote Sr.
Sanders and his lawyer declined comment.
