Breath Games for Kids With Asthma
Children with asthma are invited to participate at the Breath Games at Cal State University Northridge on Sunday. Sponsored by the American Lung Assn. and CSUN, the games will offer track and field activities and other fun events from 1 to 4 p.m.
The games are open to children with asthma ages 5 to 14 years old and registration is $10.
All participants will receive certificates, T-shirts, ribbons and medals, said Jeri Landon, a registered nurse/health educator of the CSUN Student Health Center.
Kids may compete in various athletic events, including the long jump and 50-meter dash.
There will also be face painting and a pingpong ball toss into goldfish bowls. The Black Power Ranger and Santa Claus will make special appearances.
Parking is in lot T on Lassen Street and Lindley Avenue.
Volunteers will escort children and their families to the university’s track field, Landon said.
An ambulance also will be on site, Landon said.
