Caltrans to Reduce PCH to 1 Lane During Overnight Work
Only one lane will be open to traffic on Pacific Coast Highway near Las Flores Canyon Road overnight on Sunday and Monday because of the construction there, state transportation officials said.
Caltrans workers will alternately direct north- and southbound traffic through one lane between Big Rock Drive and Las Flores from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. both nights.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane to allow the removal of the cargo containers that have served as debris barriers during landslide abatement work, said Caltrans spokeswoman Margie Tiritilli.
Traffic will also be restricted between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday for resurfacing.
Caltrans hopes to reopen all lanes of Pacific Coast Highway on Nov. 9. Two lanes have been closed since June after a massive landslide sent tons of dirt onto the road.
