Grizzly Situation for Devils

With no contract yet with the New Jersey Devils, defenseman Scott Niedermayer on Tuesday prepared to play for the Utah Grizzlies of the International Hockey League.

“Hopefully, we’ll get this worked out,” Devil General Manager Lou Lamoriello said Tuesday, a day after Niedermayer signed a 25-game contract with the Grizzlies.

Lamoriello said the Devils have no problem with the Grizzlies’ contract, which allows Niedermayer to leave at any time.
