Heart Patient Leaves State for Abortion

A heart transplant candidate from Louisiana who was unable to find a doctor willing to perform an abortion in her home state had the procedure done in Texas. Louisiana State University Medical Center and other hospitals refused to cover the abortion for Michelle Lee, 26, who has a weak, irregular heartbeat that makes pregnancy dangerous for her and the fetus. Her condition wouldn’t allow her to have the operation at a clinic.
