Schools Set Annual Band Spectacular

In a musical program of rock, classical, movie themes and oldies, the Anaheim Union High School District will hold its annual Band and Pageantry Spectacular at 7:30 tonight at Glover Stadium.
The 36th annual event will showcase eight senior high school bands performing field shows, and an all-district junior high school band. More than 2,500 musicians, drill team members and pageantry performers will be featured. An all-district high school honor band will perform the grand finale.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
The first such event took place in 1963 at Glover Stadium and remains a reflection of the district’s support for music education, officials said. The community event is produced by students, parents, teachers and administrators at the schools as well as other district personnel.
The stadium is at 1151 N. Anaheim Blvd., at La Palma Avenue.
