Javelin Systems Inc.: The Irvine manufacturer of touch-screen point-of-sale computers for the food service and retail industries posted net income of $472,652, or 11 cents a share, for the first fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30, up from the $21,172, or 1 cent a share, for the comparable period of fiscal 1998. Revenue rose to a record $12.9 million from $3 million.
