Giant Iceberg Breaks Loose

WASHINGTON — An iceberg bigger than Delaware has broken off an Antarctic ice shelf, scientists said Thursday.
The new iceberg was reported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which said it came from the Ronne Ice Shelf. Named A-38, the iceberg is about 92 miles long and 30 miles wide with an area of 2,751 square miles.
