Golf Course to Undergo $6-Million Renovation
A refurbished clubhouse and a rebuilt driving range are among $6-million worth of improvements scheduled for the 49-year-old Rancho Park golf course next year, city recreation officials said Tuesday.
Kathleen Chan of the Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department said the city will begin seeking proposals for the driving range improvement next month.
The construction project probably will include installation of new netting around the range, improved lighting and landscaping.
The city also plans to rebuild all 18 greens on the course and build 15 alternate greens that can be used when the regular ones need maintenance.
The interior of the aging clubhouse will be remodeled and refurbished.
Construction on the course’s improvements probably will begin next fall, Chan said, but could begin as early as spring 1999.
