Amy Steele Gant of Laguna Hills is one of 10 finalists for the NCAA woman of the year award, to be presented Oct. 18 in Indianapolis.
Gant, who graduated from Laguna Hills High, is playing with the U.S. national volleyball team. She played four years at Brigham Young and was twice named player of the year in the Western Athletic Conference.
Gant is scheduled to graduate in December with a degree in sports medicine. Golfer Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza and Arizona State also is a finalist.
