Garces 34, Paraclete 6--Without injured quarterback Rob Fockaert, who two weeks ago passed for 400 yards in a game, Paraclete could muster only 117 total yards in having their 13-game winning streak snapped at Antelope Valley College.

The previous time the Spirits (3-1) lost was last season to Garces (4-0), which is the only team to beat Paraclete in the last 18 games. Garces finished with 370 yards.

Fockaert sat out because of a sprained ankle suffered last week against Tehachapi.

Paraclete pulled within 7-6 early in the second quarter on Michael Washington’s 27-yard touchdown run on fourth and one.

Garces closed the half with two touchdowns within a span of 1:40 to take a 20-6 lead, and extended the margin with two more touchdowns in the third quarter.
