Teacher Attacked by Jerry Springer Fans
A New York City public school teacher was attacked by her sixth-grade students because she refused to allow them to watch the “Jerry Springer Show†on a classroom television set, police said. The teacher, Aishah Ahmad, 44, was slapped, kicked, punched and spat on by four girls who became outraged when Ahmad wanted them to watch an educational show instead of Springer’s talk show. The topic of the show was “Bisexual Relationships Hurt Married Couples.†The incident occurred Wednesday at Public School 12 in Brooklyn. Ahmad was treated at an area hospital for bruises to her neck, face and leg. The students, ages 11 and 12, have been suspended, a Board of Education spokesman said.
