Re: “Return of the Lost City” (April 26), I recently spent a wonderful month in Cambodia.
A few tips: Bring American cash and beware of malaria. The dollar seems to be preferable to the local currency. More importantly, malaria is very much present in Angkor Wat. The guest house owner in Siem Reap where I stayed for eight days has had malaria three times in five years. Worse, yours truly also was a victim. Doctors believe I caught it in Angkor Wat or Laos. Regardless, I recovered well.
