Sheriff’s Election

Re “Block, 3 Rivals Debate Status of Department at Valley Appearance,” May 19.
Sheriff Sherman Block should leave gracefully.
Incumbent Block, in debating his challengers for the office of sheriff of Los Angeles County, boasts: “I have a reputation of going out front and admitting it whenever we have a problem.” Is his bid for reelection a promise to continue admitting problems?
I hope the voters of Los Angeles County recognize the obvious; we cannot risk continuation of what we have endured under Block’s administration. I must agree with the common philosophies of Block’s opponents--change is essential.
