Iran Fires Another Coach
Associated Press
Hours after a 7-1 exhibition loss to AS Roma in Milan, Italy, Iran fired World Cup Coach Tomislav Ivic.
Ivic, a Croatian hired on Jan. 15 after Brazil’s Valdir Vierra was fired, will be replaced by Jalal Talebi, an Iranian who is the team’s technical advisor, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported Wednesday. It is unclear if Talebi, Iran’s fourth coach since November, would stay through the World Cup.
