Man Dies After Being Shot During Fight

A 23-year-old Ventura man died Sunday after after being shot during an argument in a west Ventura neighborhood, police officials said.
Ricardo Silva was pronounced dead at Ventura County Medical Center at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
Silva, whom police described as a gang member, was among about 30 people who gathered in the driveway of a home on Bell Way near Ventura Avenue when a fight broke out about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, said Ventura Police Sgt. Gary McCaskill.
During the incident, someone pulled out a small-caliber handgun, fired one shot to Silva’s head and fled the scene, according to McCaskill. Authorities were looking into the possibility that the fatal shot was fired from a car.
The reason for the fight was unclear, and police continue to search for suspects, McCaskill said.
