Lester Butler; Blues Harmonica Player, Singer

Lester Butler, 38, a blues harmonica player and singer. Growing up in Santa Monica, Butler started playing the harmonica when he was only 6. He recorded two albums, “King King” and “13 Featuring Lester Butler.” In the early 1990s, Butler led a band called the Red Devils, which toured nationally and had such celebrities as Mick Jagger, Bruce Willis and ZZ Top sit in on sessions. Butler opened for such bands as the Allman Brothers and Los Lobos and played frequently at the House of Blues in Hollywood, Jack’s Sugar Shack in Santa Monica, Killian’s in Torrance, the Blue Cafe in Long Beach and at openings for Planet Hollywood restaurants around the globe. Most recently, Butler had toured Europe with his current band, called 13. On Saturday in Los Angeles of causes to be determined after an autopsy.
