Nordhoff Shot Down by Calabasas, Ohyes in the Final Round

Calabasas High overcame a two-stroke deficit by shooting 18-over-par 373 in the final round of the Frontier League golf tournament Thursday at Elkins Ranch Golf Course and won its seventh consecutive league title.
Nordhoff, which held a 1,113-1,115 lead entering the final round, shot 381. Calabasas’ four-round total of 1,488 is a league record.
Justin Ohye won the individual title at 284. Jon Ohye made a 25-foot putt for par on the 18th hole and beat Jeff Coburn of Nordhoff by one stroke for the other berth in the Southern Section individual tournament.
Foothill League tournament No. 5--Hart shot 19-over-par 379 at Harding Golf Course in Griffith Park and clinched its ninth consecutive title.
Charlie Smith of Hart won the individual title with a four-round total of 285. Teammate Ryan Wyman finished second, one stroke back.
Marmonte League championships--Westlake shot 19-over-par 374 at Sunset Hills Country Club for a four-round total of 1,504 and won its seventh consecutive title. Simi Valley finished second, 76 strokes back.
Agoura overcame an 18-stroke deficit to Camarillo and claimed the third berth in the Southern Section regional.
Westlake junior J.T. Kohut shot his fourth consecutive 71 to repeat as individual champion.
BOYS’ SWIMMING
Pacific League finals--Kenny Carpenter of Crescenta Valley set league records in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 butterfly as the Falcons finished with 377.5 points at Arcadia High, beating Arcadia by 82.5 points.
Carpenter won the 200 in 1:42.62, breaking the mark of 1:44.55 set by former teammate Steve Kim last year.
Carpenter won the 100 butterfly in 50.77, bettering his record by .57.
GIRLS’ SWIMMING
Pacific League finals--Kim Hitch, Shelley Stiles, Tawne Fishback and Stephanie Nicholson set a league record of 1:56.35 in the 200 medley relay to help Crescenta Valley win its first league title.
Kiyun Kim won the 50 freestyle in 25.86 and the 100 freestyle in 56.14 for Crescenta Valley.
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
Buena Vista 11, Cal Lutheran 4--The Beavers (26-9) overcame eight errors with two home runs and five RBIs by Andi Royster and defeated the Regals in a first-round game of the double-elimination NCAA Division III West Regional at Orange.
