Cliffords Hits 3 Homers at Birmingham

Woody Cliffords hit three home runs in El Camino Real High’s 16-3 victory over Birmingham Thursday in a West Valley League baseball game at Birmingham.
Cliffords, who had four runs batted in, hit all three home runs over the center-field wall at Birmingham. He has eight home runs this season.
The Conquistadores (12-8, 10-3 in league play) hit seven home runs in the game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Simi Valley 4, Westlake 3--David Land’s fifth-inning sacrifice fly gave the Pioneers a Marmonte League victory over the Warriors at Simi Valley.
Brandon Voorhees, who escaped a bases-loaded, no-out situation in the fifth, earned his first save for Simi Valley (13-9, 6-5).
Jeff Boyle of Westlake (12-9, 6-6) pitched a six-hitter.
Chatsworth 10, Taft 2--Danny Eisenberg hit a two-run homer in a five-run sixth for the Chancellors (23-2, 12-1) in a North Valley League game at Chatsworth.
Eisenberg had three hits and three RBIs. Matt Fisher, Tom Morefield and Matt Cassel hit home runs.
Mike Kunes (9-1) pitched a six-hitter, with Jason Spector getting three of the hits.
Fillmore 4, Carpinteria 3--George Casarez (6-0) pitched a three-hitter and the Flashes (13-3, 9-0) clinched a tie for the Tri-Valley League championship at Carpinteria.
San Fernando 5, Granada Hills 0--Ronald Herrera (2-3) pitched a four-hitter for the Tigers (7-16, 4-9) in a North Valley League victory at San Fernando.
North Hollywood 11, Van Nuys 4--Jose Avila and Ismael Rangsiyawong hit two-run doubles in a six-run second inning for the Huskies (14-11-1, 10-2-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at North Hollywood.
Valencia 5, Canyon 0--Ryan Coe (4-0) pitched a four-hitter and struck out seven for the Vikings in a Foothill League victory at Valencia (16-7, 8-4).
Highland 4, Antelope Valley 3--Jason Allec hit a run-scoring double with two out in the seventh to give the Bulldogs a Golden League victory at Highland.
Brandon Goudey pitched a five-hitter for Highland (13-9, 8-4).
St. Francis 9, Alemany 7--Jim Hemming hit a solo home run and an RBI double for the Golden Knights in a Mission League victory at Alemany.
Notre Dame 10, Harvard-Westlake 0--Matt Cunningham hit a grand slam and a three-run home run, and Ryan Stonerock pitched a two-hitter for the Knights (13-9, 5-3-1) in a Mission League game at Notre Dame.
Santa Clara 19, Santa Paula 8--Ryan Baker had three hits and four RBIs for the Saints (9-8, 6-6) in a Frontier League victory at Santa Paula.
