Mary Elizabeth Meyer Sherk, a 33-year resident of Ventura, died Wednesday. She was 86.
She was born in Woodville, Ohio, on Jan. 8, 1912, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Ventura.
Sherk, who was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and her son, Alan Michael, is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Burns; sons Harold Jr. and John Bruce and their wives Alice and Peggy, respectively, all of Ventura; another daughter-in-law, Virginia Sherk; two brothers, Glenn Meyer of Sacramento and Allen Meyer of Largo, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Interment will take place in Clay Township Cemetery in Genoa, Ohio, in July.
