Tobacco Tax
Raising the price and taxes on cigarettes is going to discourage teenagers from smoking? I haven’t noticed where the high cost of any item deters teenagers from acquiring and using what they want.
Teenagers have pagers, cell phones, automobiles, jewelry, designer clothing, firearms and illegal drugs. And if what they want isn’t handed to them, they figure out some other way to get what they want.
The anti-tobacco advocates would have us believe that their agenda will save teenagers from nasty habits and destructive behavior. Ha! What have they been smoking?
