Man Hit by Train Lived at Fullerton Board-and-Care
BUENA PARK — Police have identified the man hit by a train Sunday morning as a developmentally disabled 29-year-old who lived at a board-and-care facility in Fullerton.
The man was walking on train tracks at Dale Avenue, south of Malvern Avenue, when the Amtrak train approached from behind and sounded its horn. Police said the man failed to acknowledge the train, even to turn around.
The train, traveling from Barstow to Los Angeles, was stopped for 90 minutes as Orange County coroner’s officials recovered his body.
Police said they are considering the death accidental but are continuing to investigate.
