Council to Sell Land for Commercial Use
City officials have agreed to sell a 13-acre city-owned parcel in the hills to a commercial developer for $2.6 million.
The City Council recently authorized transferring the land, at La Palma Avenue and Weir Canyon Road, to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency. The redevelopment agency will then sell the land, within the River Valley Redevelopment Project, to La Palma/Yorba Linda Ltd.
The developer is obligated to plan and build a “first-class, mixed-use commercial development†on the site, officials said.
Since the property includes city water assets, proceeds from the sale will go to the water utility fund.
The developer, a partnership of Hopkins Real Estate Group of Newport Beach and Gangi Development Co. of Glendale, is expected to present a proposal to the city within several months.
