Re “Boeing Plans to cut nearly 6,000 jobs,” March 20:
Of these 6,000 employees there will be, no doubt, many skilled mechanists, tool and die makers and other skilled craftsmen.
In a recent Times article the need for highly trained workmen, who are in short supply in Southern California, was clearly spelled out. Some industries have resorted to training craftsmen in their plants or looking overseas to fill their needs. Maybe they should be camping on Boeing’s doorstep.
