Fuel Spilled in Wreck Jams I-95, Fouls River
From Times Wire Reports
A tractor-trailer trying to avoid a disabled car overturned on a highway, spilling about 9,000 gallons of fuel on Interstate 95 in Stratford. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. Some of the fuel leaked into the Housatonic River, and fumes permeated the air. Amtrak and Metro-North trains were delayed as a precaution in case of possible sparks. Crews were cleaning up the spill, which had traffic backed up for miles. Northbound lanes were expected to be closed until this morning.
