Update--The Vigilantes return home in third place, eight games back in the South Division, after a 4-6 trip that concluded with two losses in three games to Bend (Ore.). Although Mission Viejo leads the league in home runs (16), the Vigilantes are sixth overall in team batting at .259. Alan Burke (six homers, 23 RBI) is among the league’s top run producers. Phil Kernan has the league’s fifth highest batting average (.378).
The Gulls are only a game out of first in the North Division. On Saturday, the Gulls signed former major league right-hander Mike Campbell, who spent part of six seasons with Seattle and the Chicago Cubs.
