Dental/Medical Diagnostic Seeks Teeth-Whitener OK
Dental/Medical Diagnostic Systems in Westlake Village is seeking Food and Drug Administration approval to sell its teeth-whitening and curing system in the United States.
The company has filed paperwork with the FDA for the Apollo 95E product and expects the process to take 60 to 90 days.
The company also announced that its private-label agreement with Ion Laser Technology has been terminated because Ion could not deliver the Apollo 9500, a composite curing and teeth-whitening system for which Dental/Medical Diagnostic has exclusive distribution rights in the United States and Canada.
As a result of the termination, the company will now receive reimbursement of all money paid to Ion Laser, which includes an inventory deposit and license fee.
“In hindsight, our decision to develop the Apollo 95E has now proven most fortuitous,†said Robert H. Gurevitch, chairman and CEO of Dental/Medical Diagnostic. “The positive reception we have received for the Apollo 95E in the European marketplace strongly supports our optimism for this product and the opportunities presented in the teeth-whitening and composite curing marketplace worldwide.â€
Gurevitch said his company will begin marketing the Apollo 95E system in the United States as soon as FDA approval is received.
Dental/Medical Diagnostic develops and manufactures high-technology dental equipment.
