Injured Man Trapped in Overturned Car
A car plowed into a building and overturned Thursday, leaving a seriously injured passenger trapped for about 20 minutes, authorities said.
The incident occurred on Prairie Avenue near West 106th Street at 1:50 a.m., when the driver lost control of the car and it slammed into a storage building, then overturned, said Inglewood Police Lt. Hampton Cantrell. It was not clear how the driver lost control.
The driver was not hurt but his passenger was trapped in the vehicle. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to free the injured man. The passenger was transported to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center in serious condition.
Cantrell said the names of the two motorists were unavailable.
